Rovos Rail, (Africa) —

One of the best African rail journeys, and one of the most famous rail journeys in the world, Rovos Rail’s epic 15-day train journey travels through South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia and Tanzania.   It starts in Cape Town, then goes on to the historic village of Matjiesfontein, the diamond town of Kimberley, and then to Pretoria for short tours, followed by two nights in the Madikwe Game Reserve for big game viewing.  It continues through Botswana into Zimbabwe where guests stay overnight at the Victoria Falls Hotel, and enjoy a sunset cruise on the Zambezi River — and this is only day 8!

Rovos also offers shorter 2 and 3-day rail journeys, like their Victoria Falls trip, and several 9-day journeys, including their Namibia Safari, their Golf Safari (for golf enthusiasts), and a classic 9-day African Collage trip.

Trips include numerous cultural excursions, game drives, wildlife safaris, bush walks, and more!  On board, their redesigned observation cars boast new larger windows and unique open-air balconies.   Their extra large Royal Suites are the epitome of luxury! Each takes up half a carriage and includes a private lounge area, full bathroom with Victorian bath and separate shower.  Smaller suites are also available.
