Steppes Travel —

For 25 years, Steppes Travel has offered expert-led cultural trips highlighting the need to preserve.  Joining forces with conservation agencies, researchers and local conservation projects – whether on an Indian tiger safari or a Galapagos Islands cruise – they not only support conservation and local communities but deliver exceptional wildlife tours.  Their Orangutan Conservation Tour in Indonesian Borneo or their Kingdom of the Gorilla in Rwanda are two great examples.

Other wildlife eco-tours include the chance to explore the Brazilian Amazon with jaguar researchers on foot, horseback and canoes; delve into Bardia National Park in Nepal on foot, on elephant back, and by raft in search of tigers, sloth bears and wild elephants; trek polar bears on the frozen tundra of the Canadian Arctic — and many more!  Steppes supports and contributes to a wide variety of global conservation projects, non-profits and humanitarian efforts.

On their Namibia: Cheetah Kingdom tour, Steppes works exclusively with AfriCat, offering a unique conservation tour, with hands-on participation at its core. Guests work with AfriCat’s vets on the Annual Big Cat Health Examination weekend that takes place at Okonjima.

On Steppes’ Namibia – Giraffe Collaring trip, guests spend several days tracking, darting and collaring the country’s rarely sighted desert-adapted giraffes. As well as gaining this phenomenal hands-on knowledge of giraffe conservation, guests benefit from the experience of renowned expert Dr Julian Fennessy.

On their Elephant Insight & Lake Turkana tour in Kenya, guests meet with researchers from Save The Elephants who will introduce the group to the resident elephant herd and explain the complex and fascinating dynamics that takes place between these animals. The trip includes a full day’s helicopter safari into Kenya’s Northern Frontier.

Their Africa team includes some of the most experienced Africa experts in the travel industry.  They offer a large number of safaris, including wildlife viewing by plane and helicopter.  Classic bush camps in Zambia allow for walking safaris, while South African safaris offer world class big game viewing and malaria-free reserves.

In addition to group tours, Steppes offers a variety of  private, independent and custom holidays.
